What Would Cities Look Like if They Were Designed by Mothers?
In her article “What Would Cities Look Like if They Were Designed by Mothers?” Christine Murray, the founder of the “Women in Architecture Awards”, states that city appearance can mostly depend on three main factors: gender, age category and personal diversity, proving that the majority of architects is young and prosperous males. For instance, she marked the lack of female qualified architects in the UK based on statistics and different researches. That is why Christine suggests to imagine, how city designs would differ depending on needs of different categories of citizens. There are three main categories chosen for the analysis: mothers, pensioners, and teenagers.
