One Language Spoken Worldwide Would Lead to Better International Relations
Nowadays, the situation on the world political arena is extremely ambiguous and complicated. Every day the news tabloids are full of headlines about political debates and scandals. Many are wondering how to improve the current situation and relations between different countries. There is an opinion that one of the possible ways to establish better connection and to strengthen the international relations is to have one language spoken worldwide. To my mind, with the help of one common language it will greatly simplify the situation and will give a chance to find a key to some international communication issues.
First of all, people are able to understand each other better if they speak the same language. For instance, youngsters all around the world would have an opportunity to study in international universities and communicate with others without fear of facing the language barrier. Moreover, it would become much easier to understand each other more accurate and always keep in touch. This could help people greatly to reach the same purpose. According to the Bible, this has already happened. Long ago, post-Great Flood, humanity was united under a single, common language. This lead to a huge upshot in productivity, the result of which was really magnificent. This story shows us the possibilities that open up when language does not become a barrier to communication.
Secondly, people speaking the same languages have much more in common than those who speak completely different ones. As every language has its unique way of thinking and forms the mentality of nation, these distinctions oppose the process of nations unity. The stereotypes about people from different countries may lead to misunderstanding as well. This is why, for example, British humor is difficult for understanding to Americans or Russians.
However, the cultural heritage of each country is fixed for centuries in their native languages, and if they disappear (and this will happen sooner or later when a single language appears), then all of this will be lost. Besides, all the milestones of history are recorded in the annals and historical documents in their native language; as the result, history will be lost or distorted. According to ‘Ethnologue: Language of the World’ magazine, “It’s predicted that by 2100, more than half of the more than 7,000 languages spoken on Earth may die out. Along with these languages will disappear unique history, culture, perspective, and identity. There is certainly a price to be paid for a more global society”.
In conclusion, while there are plus points to having one global language, too much would be lost as well. We should take into account the influence that this step may have on our cultural and national wealth.

Yulia,
Удалитьyou have managed to develop your essay draft rather well and managed to provide interesting and convincing evidence to help support your main ideas. I read your essay with great interest. The only aspect of it that needs more attention is the concluding paragraph. I'd advise you to use one of the techniques for writing effective conclusions: check this resource https://bit.ly/2SF5K1T. You will find not just the information about possible concluding techniques but also a threaded discussion about different ways of starting and concluding oral or written presentations
I didn't know you've read the Bible, anyway, I like your essay. Your evidences are very logical and understandable. Well-done!!
ОтветитьУдалитьHello Asia, sorry if i misspelt your name! Thanks for the comment. Just one little thing to remember: "evidence" is uncountable in English, so does not have a plural form. However, it can be made countable by adding "piece". Then you can say "a piece of evidence", "3 pieces of evidence" and "some evidence". Do you remember any other words that are used according to the same rule? Just in case, here is more information about them:

Oh, I didn't know about that! Thank you. I've surfed the Net and have found some words that are used according to the same rule: advice, information, homework, jewelry, silence, money, furniture, news, love, scenery and so on.
